A VIEW of Gatwick Airport in Sussex

Gatwick airport is the UK's second airport and in the top ten of the busiest international airports in the world. It is owned by BAA plc one of the most successful airport companies in the world. In 2001 Gatwick topped the 30 million passenger mark through its South and North Terminals.

The airport has two terminals and you can visit each of them. The virtual tour also offers access to BAA offices, airside facilities, the airfield and air traffic control tower as well as Servisair desk and operatons room, Virgin Atlantic's Upper Class lounge and aircraft, as well as Le Meridien Hotel.

A VIEW of Gatwick supports the GCSE for Applied Leisure and Tourism, offering examples and evidence which enables students to explore and investigate four dynamic businesses in the leisure sector. These are BAA, Virgin Atlantic, Servisair and Le Meridien Hotel. The virtual tour also provides some evidence in support of GCSE Applied Business, the work related curriculum at Key Stage 4, Careers Education and Citizenship.

Developed with support from the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA).

The VIEW of Gatwick was made possible by the considerable support of BAA Gatwick, Servisair, Virgin Atlantic and Le Meridien Hotel who provided access to their business, workplaces, employees and other materials.

The introduction and contact with Gatwick based employers was made possible through the support of the Sussex Education Business Alliance (SEBA) who also provided practical support and assistance in the collection of the data to make a VIEW of Gatwick.

Schools and Colleges in the South East (SEEDA) region are entitled to a free single user copy of a VIEW of Gatwick courtesy of this SEEDA funded project. They should make contact with their local Education Business Partnership to request their copy.

Schools who wish to use this software on more than one PC will need to purchase a Multi-User Edition of VIEW:Retail. See Pricing Details for further information.
