What is VIEW?

VIEW is the Virtual Interactive Employer’s Workplace, an ICT based resource which brings the workplace to young people in support of the curriculum and higher standards of achievement in work related learning.

VIEW provides young people with access to a variety of workplaces. Through a virtual tour, the young person can explore working areas discovering 360 degree rotary images, closeups, documents, audio interviews, short videos and narratives. Supporting the course requirements of specific Applied GCSEs and the demands of work related learning at Key Stage 4, VIEW is an innovative way in which employers can offer their place of work as a learning resource for all young people.

VIEW is a multimedia application available for stand alone PCs or networks. Available on CD many VIEW applications exceed 500Mb of work based evidence found in real businesses across several sectors and most suited to the Key Stage 4 curriculum.

What is e-skills UK VIEW?

e-skills UK VIEW is a resource which brings together four VIEW applications into one. e-skills UK have specially written challenges and support materials to help young people get the most out of their virtual visit to each of the four employers.

2 Gb of data can be found in the resource across the four employers, including:

over 300 panoramic images
2500 images of which 900 are zoomable
36 video sequences
over 100 audio interviews with more than 1,700 answers to questions
